ST. LOUIS REGIONALS UPDATES
Sat 3/3/07, 3:10 PM
Well, we were eliminated in the the semifinals by the top ranked alliance, two games to none. Still, 1723 put up a valiant effort in keeping 148, the number 1 team, from scoring in the match. Way to go, Brandon.

We won our quarterfinal round 2 games to 0!! We\\\\\\\'re moving on to the semifinals! Our opponents will be the number 1 alliance -- yikes!
Sat 3/3/07, 1:30 PM
We finished ranked 4th. We selected teams 525 and 1625 to be on our alliance for the finals, which are beginning in a few minutes.
Sat 3/3/07, 9:00 AM
We have fixed the transmission on the rear right wheel, so we are in business again. We have a mighty pile of safety tokens; we could be in the running for the safety award, too.
Other teams are coming up to request an alliance for the final rounds.
Time to go to the Opening Ceremony.
Fri 3/2/07, 10:00 PM
After 7 matches, we are ranked 3rd. The top 8 teams get to pick two other teams to form alliances for the Finals. There are only two more seeding matches in the morning, so the odds look good that we will be one of those 8. At this moment, Mr. Hook and most of the team members are meeting to decide which teams we would like to pick, if we get the chance.
This is new ground for us. Last year, we were shut out of the Finals. It is exciting to be in the upper echelon for a change! Only the winning 3-team alliance gets to move on to Nationals.
We are tired, but very much looking forward to tomorrow.
Fri 3/2/07, 4:00 PM
WOW!!! We went 6-1 in the seeding rounds today, and scored at least once in each round, usually twice. We just finished our last match, and we are currently ranked 3rd out of 45 teams. A couple of times we were even ranked number one -- can you believe it?!
We have two more matches tomorrow morning. If we finish in the top 8, we get to be one of the teams that chooses an alliance for the final rounds. A definite improvement over last year!!
The build team is currently fixing a transmission that went bad in the last match, but otherwise the robot is working perfectly. The suction is great, and the forklift can reach the bottom two rungs.
Holy schmoly, way to go FBI!
Thurs 3/1/07, 10:00 PM.
We had a good, productive day. We worked on the robot nearly non-stop for 10 hours. The robot was about 1/4 inch too long, which required several hours and two trips to the machine shop to fix -- they are sticklers for the rules. We eventually passed inspection, and played three practice rounds. Afterwards, we finally got the forklift to work, and the suction works (sometimes), so we are looking forward to the seeding matches tomorrow.
Thurs 3/1/07, 7:00 AM.
We are getting ready to head to the Arena.
Student roster: Amanda Boyce, Josh Brown, Andrew Fox, Karrie Guthrie, Easton Miller, Alice Molina, Brandon Staggs, Bobby Stansell, Kurt Wagner.
And mucho thanks to those who worked on the robot but were unable to join us!
Wed 2/28/07, 5:00 PM.
We made it to St. Louis!! We are safely ensconced in the lovely Super 8 Motel. Nine students and six sponsors made the trip.
Practice rounds start bright and early tomorrow morning. We are excited.
Bring on the robots! Go FBI!
